Job Description

Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Low Voltage Installer position working out of our Rochester office. This is an entry-level position and is a great opportunity for someone looking to get started with a career in the Low Voltage industry.

Responsibilities
  • The Low Voltage Installer/Apprentice will learn from and work alongside Technicians to install Low Voltage Systems throughout the Rochester area. Low voltage systems may include: Structured Cabling; Security Systems; CCTV Systems; Voice/Data; Fiber Optic; Paging and Sound Masking systems.
Qualifications
  • Highly motivated with the willingness to learn and continuously develop, including the willingness to learn how to diagnose and resolve issues on low voltage systems.

  • Ability to report to job sites around the metro area and work outside of the metro on occasion. Jobsite start times may vary.

  • Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to being on time for scheduled work days.

  • Independent worker that is well organized and focused on meeting project deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on high level of customer service.

  • Ability to observe and follow Egan's safety standards/procedures.

  • This position requires reliable transportation to arrive at the worksite consistently and on time.

  • This is a union position. The individual must either join the local IBEW union or already be a union member. Candidates who are new to the industry will be required to qualify for the Limited Energy JATC apprenticeship program. Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED to qualify for the JATC apprenticeship program.

  • To qualify for employment, this position requires a pre-employment drug screen prior to starting.

Working Conditions
  • Performance of duties will be on job sites with exposure to loud noise, dirt, and the elements.

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team).

  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
