Job Description

The Principal Tax Analyst, International Tax Planning, will be mainly responsible for supporting Ecolab's international tax planning initiatives, including assisting the design and execution of Ecolab's international tax planning projects. This candidate will assist in modeling anticipated tax impacts, maintaining audit-ready documentation, and supporting project implementations and on-going maintenance. The Principal Tax Analyst will be able to perform tax research, analyze tax and accounting information, understand income tax accounting concepts and effectively communicate with internal and external professionals.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in international tax planning and special projects, including strategic initiatives, LER, M&A integration, and attribute planning, among others
  • Research, analyze, and apply U.S. Federal and outbound international tax laws and principles
  • Prepare tax models, calculations, step-plans and research memoranda
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external tax advisors and internal teams on various U.S. Federal and international tax issues
  • Assist in developing and maintaining audit-ready documentation related to the implementation and on-going maintenance of tax planning projects
  • Support the calculation of the ASC 740 income tax provision and tax compliance in connection with the execution and implementation of tax planning projects, and assist in review of quarterly international tax provision calculations
  • Communicate and build relationships throughout the Ecolab tax, treasury, accounting, and finance organization to support cross-functional projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4 years of combined US Federal and International income tax experience
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, JD, or LLM in tax
  • Mix of public and private tax experience
  • General understanding of US international tax concepts including income sourcing, expense apportionment & allocation, E&P, foreign tax credit, GILTI, FDII, and Subpart F
  • Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply US international tax laws and principles
  • Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work with consultants and teammates to understand project objectives and timelines
  • Problem solving skills and ability to handle obstacles and unanticipated problems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • General understanding of ASC 740 principles
