Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Control Support Technician is primarily responsible for inspecting and assembling final compressor components on units to ensure compliance with contract or customer specifications.  In addition, the Quality Control Support Technician will provide technical or production support to the Quality and Calibration Departments.  The Quality Control Support Technician reports to the Quality Control Manager.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

Final Assembly
  • Inspect and test compressor components to determine compliance with order specifications, Company's Quality Control System for compliance with legal requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics; and utilize these drawings in placement of parts.
  • Follow the Workmanship Standards and the ISO quality system.  Utilizes these practices in everyday work activity.
  • Maintain work environment in accordance with Lean 6S standards and perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Assist at different workstations as production needs require. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Use M2M to research job order information.
  • Audit Bill of Material to ensure all issued parts are with the job and of the required quantity. If not, network with warehouse, engineering, and production coordinators to have the required parts delivered.
  • Installs required parts in final assembly as needed to complete build/inspection process.
QA Department – Flex as Needed
  • Inputs, updates, and maintains quality assurance data in the QA databases.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as manufacturing issues and the design of products for consideration by other company employees.
  • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Inspection of both products received and shipped to meet BCI Quality requirements.
  • Audit Bill of Material to ensure all issued parts are with the job and of the required quantity. If not, network with warehouse, engineering, and production coordinators to have the required parts delivered.
  • Use M2M to research job order information.
  • Use Vault to access assembly and schematic drawings.
  • Understand when and how to utilize the BOMAF and MPL processes.
Calibration Lab – Flex as Needed
  • Performs pressure calibrations force gauges, torque wrenches, etc.) according to requirements and records associated data in databases.
  • Perform setting and testing of pneumatic safety relief valves.
  • Maintains stock levels of Relief Valves to meet established production requirements and safety stock levels.
  • Documents calibration certificates and maintains certification records.
  • Maintains calibration and measurement records in various databases (MS Access, Excel, or Made2Manage).
  • Follows the documented procedures in the Bauer Quality Management System.
  • Use M2M to research gauge and valve information.
  • Operate the facility tool crib performing calibration recall functions to maintain the highest degree of readiness for production of products.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School or technical school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical motor controls and PLC systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, tubing diagrams and the use of standard measuring devices such as test meters, pressure gauges, flow meters, calipers, scales, IR temperature probes and paint thickness testers.
  • Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power, and air tools.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and prioritize demands.
  • Can adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
  • Possess high quality standards.
  • Able to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Able to accomplish assigned tasks in the time scheduled for completion.
  • Strong math skills in algebra and statistics.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work safely around high voltage electrical systems, high pressure systems and open rotating equipment.
VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • General understanding of other assembly functions, including piping, tubing (bending and swaging) and belt alignment.
  • Knowledge of compressors and pneumatics.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products and CAD-based software.
  • General understanding of electrical control logic and design.
  • Able to operate forklifts and powered lifting machinery, or obtain certification as needed and required.
  • Basic Knowledge in LEAN concepts.
  • Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
