About the Job

Responsibilities

75% Perform unit purchasing and account payable functions: Assist faculty and lab staff in choosing items to purchase, get quotes, prepare purchase orders, verify form accuracy, enter transactions, verify item receipt, receive on POs, create UMarket carts, reallocate purchasing card expenses, process nonPOs and process travel reimbursements

20% Order management: manage the purchasing database Quartzy, manage the BPO database, close POs when grants end, create P locations, track lost packages, respond to purchasing questions, and enter new vendors into the system

5% Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications
High school diploma/GED and two years general accounts transaction experience. Training/education may be substituted for some of the years of experience.

Preferred qualifications
-Demonstrated ability to organize multiple projects and interrelated financial activities.
-Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with faculty, staff and students.
-Demonstrated ability to act independently and confidently.
-Demonstrated ability to operate as part of a team.
-Strong customer service skills.
-Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-Demonstrated ability to work from home. Position will be 100% remote after training period.
